Abstract:In this paper, a novel slow-wave structure consisting of a triangular cross-section helix supported inside a metallic envelope using azimuthally symmetrically placed three rectangular dielectric support rods is proposed. The slow-wave characteristics of the structure are computed using 3D electromagnetic simulation in CSTstudio and compared to an equivalent circular helix slowwave structure. The circuit shows higher on-axis interaction impedance compared to its circular-helix counterpart SWS.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
