The requirements of the New Ukrainian School pose modern challenges and prospects to the training system. The school needs an active, critical thinker, teacher-oriented teacher. Such a teacher can interest students, develop and shape them, conduct research, instill in them responsibility and conservation of nature and resources, love for their homeland.The format of reviewing approaches to the implementation of the school program in "Physical Culture" requires a holistic, physically prepared, confident in their decisions teachers. This problem can be solved by future specialists in physical culture and sports. Their competencies in teaching sports provide an opportunity to form a caring attitude to their own health in modern conditions, to motivate children to physical activity. To form social activity, responsibility and ecological consciousness, readiness to take part in the decision of questions of preservation of environment and development of a society, awareness of importance of sustainable development for the future generations, observance of democratic principles in physical culture activity. Physical culture is a means of spiritual, emotional, social and physical development, to maintain a healthy lifestyle and create a safe living environment.The article reveals innovative approaches to the teaching of sports, skills and their application in physical education and sports. It is shown what competencies a specialist in physical culture and sports has to implement the process of physical education in general secondary education and beyond. It is proved that the application of the proposed approaches helps to implement the objectives of the program "Physical Culture". The importance of the outlined approaches in the formation of the personal fund of motor skills, careful treatment of natural resources, the use of acquired skills for life safety and protection of the country is determined.
