Show more

“…Kemp et al 2012). In the case of transport, this implies a need to prioritise architectural innovation -defined as linking existing technologies in new ways (Meeus and Edquist, 2006) and as involving processes crossing sectoral boundaries and benefiting from social innovation -over modular innovation, defined as changes in the core concepts of technologies but maintaining existing linkages (Henderson and Clark, 2004), such as in the case of electric vehicles, biofuels and other technological options that maintain rather than disrupt mobility patterns. Practical challenges to achieve 4 this in transport policy include uncoordinated or even incoherent policies between and within local-regional and national governance levels (e.g.…”

“…The reason why specifically research assistants have been selected is because previous studies have underlined that lower-level employee behavior is of great importance for risk recognition and evaluation in a changing world (Burgelman and Grove, 2006;Meeus and Edquist, 2006). Employees from low level of organization may much easily broaden the scope of input and raise the speed (Dutton and Ashford, 1993).…”

“…The management literature has for several decades emphasised lower-level employee behaviour in complex and fast-changing environments where locally held knowledge is important for risk recognition and evaluation (Burgelman and Groove, 2006;Dodgson, Gann, and Salter, 2008;Meeus and Edquist, 2006). Voices from below widen the scope of input and increase the speed at which top management receives information on risks, opportunities and emerging trends .…”
