The embryologic background and histologic types of genital tumors arising from mesonephric remnants are discussed. The differing views on the true histogenesis of the group of tumors arising near the ovary are described but, where origin is from the cervix and vagina, it is concluded that there can be little debate as to the mesonephric origin. Two cases are described arising in the cervix and vagina and treated by Radiation Therapy at the Upstate Medical Center, State University Hospital of New York, Syracuse, New York. The authors believe that these tumors exhibit a radiosensitivity that is not uncommon for adenocarcinoma in the genital tract but is uncommon in other parts of the body. Radiocurability is harder to assess but there is some limited evidence in the literature to suggest that they may be curable by radiation.
