“…Binucleated or multilobated giant cells, nuclear grooving and pseudoinclusions are observed. The reticulated pattern, the most distinctive feature in this case, is also in accordance with the recent description of cytological features of a case of FDC sarcoma by Yang et al 10 They pointed out that the cytoplasmic processes of other spindle cell tumours, such as leiomyosarcoma, fibrosarcoma, peripheral nerve sheath tumour and gastrointestinal stromal tumour, are bipolar rather than multipolar, which is characteristic of dendritic cell sarcomas and dendrites of the neuron. The differential diagnosis includes lymphoepithelioma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, malignant melanoma, anaplastic large cell lymphoma, and thymoma.…”

“…8 The other four reports of intraabdominal FDC sarcomas are not specified as inflammatory pseudotumor-like variant. [9][10][11][12] To the best of our knowledge, this is the first cytological report of a primary splenic inflammatory pseudotumor-like FDC sarcoma.…”
