Interplay of electron correlations and localization in disordered β-tantalum films: Evidence from dc transport and spectroscopic ellipsometry study

Abstract: Effect of palladium cap layer thickness on desorption of hydrogen from PrH x films: A spectroscopic ellipsometry study J. Appl. Phys. 90, 1795 (2001); 10.1063/1.1385569Determining thickness of thin metal films with spectroscopic ellipsometry for applications in magnetic randomaccess memory Transition from strong to weak electron localization in a percolating gold film under the influence of an electric field Low Temp.

“…The understanding of the found out-of-plane and in-plane magnetization properties, associated with self-organized ensembles of quasi-2D single-domain FM FeNi nanoislands, is quite important for the fundamental physics of magnetism, as well as for technological applications. [16]. During the deposition, the substrate temperature was 73 ± 3 ∘ C. The nominal film thickness (i.e., the thickness of the corresponding continuous film) was controlled by the deposition rate and time (see more details in [17]).…”

“…Let us follow the trends occurring in the Ta layer optical conductivity for the samples N2 50 , the 33-nm thick single Ta layer 30 , 31 , N5, and N6, which span a major part of the ( , ) Mooij plot related to the negative TCR values (see Fig. 5 ).…”

“…Recently, by using dc transport and wide-band spectroscopic ellipsometry experimental techniques we investigated disordered metallic -Ta films 30 , 31 , which are known to manifest negative TCR 32 . We discovered that with increasing degree of disorder the Drude contribution due to intraband absorption within the Ta 5d band at the Fermi level decreases and simultaneously the higher-energy optical bands appear as satellites at around 2–4 eV, where the associated optical SW is recovered.…”
