International Expansion of Colombian Firms: Understanding their emergence in foreign markets

Abstract: En este estudio se muestra que aunque no hay evidencia de un patrón generalizable en el proceso de internacionalización de compañías colombianas, hay algunos rasgos comunes en la mayoría de las empresas observadas: la elección de exportaciones como el modo de entrada inicial, el ingreso a países con baja distancia psicológica y geográfica, y el desarrollo de ventajas estratégicas locales que eventualmente se replican en el exterior.
