Interfacially Interactive Ternary Silver-Supported Polyaniline/Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposites for Catalytic and Antibacterial Activity

Abstract: Herein, a protocol strategy has been designed for the preparation of ternary silver nanoparticles-supported polyaniline multiwalled carbon nanotube (Ag NPs–PANI/MWCNT) nanocomposites with a chemical interaction for catalytic and antibacterial activity. The morphological study confirmed that Ag NPs were immobilized on the surface of PANI, and afterward, Ag NPs–PANI were mixed with the MWCNTs. The X-ray diffraction technique revealed the face-centered cubic structure of Ag NPs, and the X-ray photoelectron spectr… Show more

“…Carbon nanotubes and AuNP composites are highly favorable for diverse applications, such as optics, electronics, biosensors, and catalysis [ 145 ]. Various methods have been tested to functionalize carbon nanotubes by AuNPs, such as thermal decomposition, and the pre-functionalization of the nanotube surfaces with carboxylic acid groups, amino groups, or other functional groups that easily connect AuNPs, implementing their properties [ 146 ].…”

“…For the functionalization of NTs by Au NPs, various methods have been examined. Thermal decomposition is the procedure used to reduce Au-III salt onto the carbon nanotubes surface [76]. Still, the key advances related the electrostatic and covalent port of Au NPs on NTs.…”

“…Different strategies were investigated to decorate nanotubes by Au-NPs. One of the first methods consisted to reduce a Au III salt onto the surface of carbon nanotubes by thermal decomposition [103]. However, the main developments concerned the electrostatic and covalent anchorage of gold nanoparticles on nanotubes.…”
