Interest-based cooperative caching in multi-hop wireless networks

Abstract: New communication protocols, as WiFi Direct, are now available to enable efficient Device-to-Device (D2D) communications in wireless networks based on portable devices. At the same time, new network paradigms, as Content-Centric-Networking (CCN), allow a communication focused on the content and not its location within the network, enabling a flexible location for the content, which can be cached in the nodes across the network. In such context, we consider a multi-hop wireless network adopting CCN-like coopera… Show more

“…In [46], an interest-based cooperative insertion policy is presented in a multi-hop wireless network adopting CCN-like cooperative caching. In a wireless network consisting of a server and several nodes interconnected through a multi-hop linear topology, each node is associated with a unique user, and every user device acts as a caching node and only stores the contents according to the interest.…”

“…Minimizing caching failure probability or maximizing caching hit rate are formulated in [33,34,53,62,104]. From the perspective of simulation, tracebased simulation is used to evaluate user experience delay in [30,43,107], and discrete event-driven simulators are adopted to evaluate caching hit rate in [45,46,58].…”

“…Using Mobile CCN technology enables the Bluetooth beacon to be used for mutual search and content search between large-scale terminals and to know which content is located in which node in the network in the mobile networking environment of MD2MD. In particular, the application of Mobile CCN technology in the MD2MD environment in mobile communication/wireless communication networks is a very rare topic of study, and we believe that this study can be a basis for future research [12][13][14][15]. In particular, considering the developing mobile terminal, we have studied its operation based on heterogeneous wireless technology using several different wireless technologies.…”
