Interaction of the Components in the Ni—Zn—Sb Ternary System at 570 K.

Abstract: Interaction of the Components in the Ni-Zn-Sb Ternary System at 570 K. -Three new compounds are identified in the 570 K isothermal section of the phase diagram of the title system. Ni3ZnSb2 crystallizes in a new structure type (space group P3m1), Ni40Zn53Sb7 has the CsCl type structure (space group Pm3m), and NiZnSb crystallizes in the MgAgAs type structure (space group F43m). -(CHUMAK*, I.; PAVLYUK, V.; J. “…Comprehensive comparison among the isothermal sections established by Stadelmaier et al [13] at 800 C, by Chumak et al [15] at 297 C and by the present authors at 600 C reveals that the phase relationships at these three different temperatures are significantly different from each other. Besides, there exist discrepancies on some issues such as the solubility of the third elements in the binary compounds, and the extension direction of certain NieSi binary compounds from the boundary binary system into the ternary system.…”
