“…Este artículo retomó el análisis del espacio político partidista (Hoskin, 1973;1990) con el fin de identificar los cambios en la dinámica y composición del sistema de partidos políticos colombiano luego de la progresiva incorporación de partidos políticos posinsurgentes (Holland, 2016, Manning, 2004. Este artículo hace un análisis espacial del sistema de partidos colombiano durante el periodo 1991-2019, con particular énfasis en la incorporación de actores extrasistémicos vía negociación y acuerdos de paz. La delimitación espaciotemporal se traza desde la promulgación de la Constitución Política de 1991, la cual marcó el cambio del sistema bipartidista colombiano a uno de tipo multipartidista, y la firma del Acuerdo de Paz del Teatro Colón con la guerrilla de las FARC-EP. Metodológicamente, el artículo retoma la técnica de análisis espacial unidimensional de Gary Hoskin (1990) —Izquierda-Derecha—pero sugiere la integración de un nuevo eje —Alto-Bajo— para el estudio del espacio político partidista desde múltiples polos (Ostiguy, 2009a). El argumento central de trabajo es que la progresiva incorporación de los actores insurgentes extrasistémicos por la vía de partidos políticos posinsurgentes (Holland, 2016) ha permitido la aparición de un espacio político multipolar previamente invisibilizado e inhabilitado por las dinámicas bélicas y la violencia prolongada; asimismo, dicho espacio político multipolar abre la puerta al análisis del sistema de partidos colombiano en los ámbitos nacional y subnacional.

This paper applies Bayesian methodologies to characterize the legislative behavior of the Colombian Senate during the period 2010-2014. The analysis is carried out through the plenary roll call votes of this legislative chamber. In addition, parliamentary electoral behavior is operationalized by implementing the onedimensional standard Bayesian ideal point estimator via the Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms. The results contribute mainly to two points: political space dimensionality and the identification of pivot legislators. The pattern revealed by the estimated ideal points suggests a latent non-ideological trait (oppositionnon-opposition) underlying the vote of deputies in the Senate. Thus, in addition to providing empirical evidence for a better understanding of legislative policy in Colombia during the period under analysis, this work also offers methodological and theoretical tools to guide the analysis of roll call vote data in contexts of unbalanced parliaments (as opposed to the U.S. parliament), taking the particular case of the Colombian Senate as a reference.
