Intelligent Vehicular Warning System for VANET

Abstract: The vehicular ad hoc network (VANET) has made significant progress in recent years, attracting a lot of interest from academia and the industry. VANET involves vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications based on a wireless network. V2I refers to the communication between vehicles and infrastructure of roadside unit (RSU), e.g., a base station and access point (AP) connected to the Internet. V2V refers to the direct or multi-hop communications among vehicles in VANET. V2V is eff… Show more

“…Therefore, the officials who are in charge of the implementation of ITS in Malaysia should pay more attention to the information quality of realtime data. Current high-tech wired (e.g., fiber optic) and wireless (e.g., FM radio, satellite, cellular) communication should be applied for broadcasting information, such as traffic information (Fang et al, 2010;Mai et al, 2012). Doing so will help drivers change their routes when better alternatives are available, and the overall outcome would be less traffic congestion and a high efficiency of traffic management in Malaysia.…”

“…As VANETs play a very important role in safe http://engine.scichina.com/doi/10.1007/s11432-012-4725-1 driving, accounting management, traffic management, data communications, and vehicle infotainment, recently, much work has been done in this field, including routing protocols [32], transmission control protocols [33], and applied research [34]. Zigbee network technology is commonly used for traffic sensor networks [35] and traffic signal control system [36]. Bluetooth technology is a kind of radio technology for short-distance communication [37], which can be applied to intelligent transportation systems, parking guidance management systems, car telephones, etc.…”
