Intelligent support tools for strategic decision-making on Smart Grid development

Abstract: The article discusses the concepts of Smart Grid and the digital power industry being developed in Russia. The main information technologies offered for their implementation are analyzed. It is proposed to include in this list intelligent technologies to support strategic energy development decisions,. Three generations of such tools developed in a team headed by the authors are considered. The proposed Intellectual tools are based on the concepts of situational management and semantic modeling. It is noted th… Show more

“…And the more levels of management, the more subjects influence the information on the basis of which the most important decisions are made in the organization. Modern approaches to organizational management offer many ways to solve this problem [6,7,8], but large organizations that have existed for decades continue to go bust, and not always when their life cycle is fully passed. The reason, in our opinion, is in human nature, since human consciousness, in principle, cannot hold as many objects as it needs to be processed for effective management of a large organization.…”

“…To form such a description, languages of the ontological type can be used. For example, the Contingency Management Language (CML) is one of such languages [8]. Unfortunately, they cannot map models and algorithms of the studied subject domain to the architecture of a parallel or distributed computing environment.…”

“…In this regard, we propose a new high-level language for the subject knowledge representation in the vulnerability analysis of critical energy infrastructures field. This language is included in the Orlando Tools framework designed to develop and use distributed applied software packages [8] in a heterogeneous environment [10]. Nowadays, the language is used in developing packages that support solving a class of problems related to analyzing the vulnerability of energy systems.…”

“…The authors are proposed to use the situational management concept to justify and support decision-making to ensure energy security. This is considered, in particular, in [18][19]. To justify strategic decisions in the energy sector, it is proposed to integrate mathematical and semantic modeling tools [20].…”
