The ability to relate, listen and respond assertively in an academic, personal, and social context, controlling emotions is called emotional intelligence. The objective of this research was to analyze the scientific evidence on emotional intelligence of university students in Latin America from 2015 to 2021. In this systematic review, Scielo, Scopus and Ebsco databases were analyzed, from where scientific articles were identified. Fifteen articles were identified, to which the proposed dimensions, instruments and definitions of the term emotional intelligence were identified. The results indicate that it is a priority to deepen research on emotional intelligence to increase production at Latin American level.

Prediction of emotional competence in future education teachers through a multiple logistic regression model and classification trees

In order to know the level of emotional competence of future education teachers and evaluate the incidence that different personal and academic factors, we have used binary logistic regression and classification trees. Non-experimental design was carried out, with a sample of 359 students from the Faculties of Education of the University of Malaga and Almería. The results show that variables such as university access scores, the average mark of the first four-month period of the first year of the degree, the effort before the study, being a repeater, the choice of the degree as the first option and having siblings are significant predictors in the logistic model, where the last variable has the greatest determination capacity. Furthermore, in the segmentation tree it has been obtained that those students who do have siblings have a higher level of development of emotional competence, with a probability of 69.2% and if they have also chosen the degree as the first option, this percentage is increased to 75.9%. It can be concluded that it is essential to institutionally establish sufficient conditions so that teachers can detect the predictor variables and establish training strategies that allow increasing the level of development of the competence emotional.

El objetivo del presento estudio es determinar aquellos factores de tipo psicológicos que indicen sobre el aprendizaje universitario, limitando el desempeño académico en las aulas de clase, se seleccionó una investigación de tipo transversal, con el uso de una metodología de carácter cuantitativo-descriptivo, se estructuraron preguntas referente a la información de tipo primaria proporcionada por el consultorio clínico de la Universidad Técnica de Machala, con base en eso se adoptó el instrumento del cuestionario con un modelo de escala de tipo Likert, para la recolección de los datos referente al estudio, con un muestreo por conveniencia, se aplicó las encuestas a 368 estudiantes que componen las distintas facultades de la institución, con los datos se efectuó un análisis general de los hallazgos investigativos. Entre los cuales los principales factores que radican sobre la conducta académica del alumnado son aspectos de tipo económico, familiar y el bullying, llegando a incidir de manera gravitante sobre el rendimiento académico, limitando el acceso a un aprendizaje integral.
