Integration of Video Surveillance and Skyline Terrain Image

Abstract: Traditional video surveillance is usually expressed based on two-dimensional maps, it has some shortcomings in the aspects of the visualization and the realism. It proposed the concept of three-dimensional terrain images and video surveillance, designed a terrain image monitoring system hardware and software framework, analyzed the relevant coding transmission and video control. The three-dimensional terrain image monitoring prototype system is implemented, which improves the field of video surveillance.

“…Sebe [21] and others projected video images as dynamic textures to 3D models and proposed the augmented virtual environment (AVE) concept. Huang Binghu et al used the Skyline 3D GIS platform software to propose a 3D ground image video surveillance solution that combines a video surveillance system with 3D GIS and developed a prototype system for 3D ground-influenced video surveillance [22][23][24]. However, its enhanced virtual environment is composed of simple planes, which is quite different from the real world, and depth information cannot be considered at the same time.…”

“…With the development of digital image acquisition and processing [1] [2], image monitoring system is more and more widely used in such social areas as banking, transportation, shopping mall and intelligent community [3] [4]. As an important part of the image monitoring system, pan-tilt unit permits the camera to be turned up or down through a 90 degree angle in a movement known as panning or tilting [5] [6].…”
