Integration of Metabolic Reactions and Gene Regulation

Abstract: Metabolic reactions and gene regulation are two primary processes of cells. In response to environmental changes cells often adjust the regulatory programs and shift the metabolic states. An integrative investigation and modeling of these two processes would improve our understanding about the cellular systems and may generate substantial impacts in medicine, agriculture, environmental protection, and energy production. We review the studies of the various aspects of the crosstalk between metabolic reactions a… Show more

“…The comprehension of lag phase plays an important role in many aspects of the biotechnological field. As known, once bacteria are transferred to a new medium, the metabolite energy will be depleted in the cells and cause termination of the cell growth [1,2]. This phenomenon is explained by the differences between original media and the new culture.…”

“…In particular, samples come from two groups: cancer and benign. The intergration of such molecular data sources for exploration and discovery is of growing interest [5, 6, 7]. A variety of visualization tools have recently been introduced that can map metabolite and gene expression information onto metabolic pathways, such as [8, 9, 10].…”
