Background The e-learning system has gained a phenomenal significance than ever before in the present COVID-19 crisis. The E-learning delivery mechanisms have evolved to enhanced levels facilitating the education delivery with greater penetration and access to mass student population worldwide. Nevertheless, there is still scope to conduct further research in order to innovate and improve higher quality delivery mechanism using the state-of-the-art information and communication technologies (ICT) available today. In the present pandemic crisis all the stakeholders in the higher education system, i.e., the governments, institutions, and the students expect seamless and efficient content delivery via e-learning platforms. This study proposes the adoption of the e-learning system by the integration of the model proposed by Delon and Mcclean “Information System Success Model” in Jazan University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and further attempts to identify the factors affecting E-learning applications' success among the students. Methods The data were gathered from 568 respondents. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 26 (SPSS v.26.0) was used for the data analysis and one-way ANOVA is applied to test the hypothesis. Result The overall results of this study allude to the fact that there is a significant relationship between Information system Success Model factors and the adoption of e-learning systems. The research results indicated that the information system success model has a strong associating cost-benefit value towards the adoption of e-learning systems across the Jazan University that may be further expanded to the other Saudi universities.

Nowadays, we live in a practically digitised world. Therefore, education has been one of the first aspects to have the need to update itself digitally. This, together with exceptional situations, such as COVID-19 (coronavirus diseases), have meant that the only way to teach is through information and communication technology (ICT). As an objective of this communication, we propose to analyse the level of digital competences of European university teaching staff, in addition to detecting good practices in teaching and guidance using ICT. This is a mixedmethod research study in which 918 teachers participated in the quantitative part and 76 in the qualitative part. As an instrument, the scale Necesidades formativas en estrategias orientadoras y tutoriales (NFEOT-17) has been used for quantitative research, and the techniques of discussion group, nominal group and the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) technique have been used for qualitative research. The results show that low digital competence is manifested in relation to teaching and university orientation. Furthermore, determining factors have been detected that characterise good ICT practices. In conclusion, the need to develop digital competencies in university teachers is highlighted so that they can be part of the new digital era and face exceptional situations that may arise.

The Cloud E-Learning Systems for the Arabic language are relevant environments in many areas of training (teaching Arabic language) but also pose problems related to their creation tedious, costly in resources and time, and problems related to the search for information because of the increasing amount of information available and because of the methods of indexing, which is based on static methods such as keyword search that makes irrelevant the research process. For this, a new method of indexation is required. In this paper, a new Arabic text is proposed indexing approach using the creation of a new application profile of the LOM metadata schema (Learning Object Metadata) for the Arabic language. This profile includes the fields of LOM standard, and adds new fields for specific search information to Arabic language, and meets the needs of a teacher. Also, it's all using natural language processing tools like SAPA and AL-KHALIL.
