The objective of this study was to evaluate the role of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the learning of primary school students, as assessed by ICT coordinators of the schools in Andalusia (a network already considered by the Spanish Educational Administration as ICT centres). For this, a total of 34 ICT coordinators from various primary education centres in Andalusia participated. With the objective of knowing the scope of the policies that are carried out, as well as determining the true incidence of ICT in the classroom -not only as a tool, but also as a way of teaching -a questionnaire was created and validated for the coordinators TIC. The results indicated that (a) the use by ICT teachers in the classroom is still reduced and (b) the lack of training received by teachers, as well as scarce technological resources, are the main barriers to attaining a higher use of ICT in the didactic process. The findings suggest that integral and transversal insertion of ICTs in the classroom should be priority objectives in deriving optimal curricular development in for primary school students.

RESUMENEl objetivo de este estudio fue analizar la efectividad del programa educativo “Cubilete” para la prevención de adicciones a Internet, móvil, juegos y apuestas online en estudiantes de Educación Secundaria y Bachillerato, diseñado por la Asociación Alujer. La muestra estuvo compuesta por un total de 637 alumnos de diferentes centros de la ciudad de Jaén (España). El instrumento para medir la eficacia del programa en una medida pre y postest fue el Cuestionario escolar de creencias, actitudes y usos de tecnologías, juegos virtuales y apuestas online (CCAU), construido ad hoc. La intervención tuvo una duración de 4 semanas y fue llevada a cabo durante las horas de tutoría. Los resultados muestran una reducción significativa en cuanto al uso de Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC), así como en la frecuencia en las que se utilizan las mismas. También se observó un aumento en el reconocimiento de adicción a las TIC una vez llevada a cabo la intervención, además de un mayor conocimiento de los padres del uso que hacen sus hijos de las mismas. Así mismo, la participación a juegos de azar y apuestas online se ve reducida considerablemente. Por último, hay un esclarecimiento en lo referido al significado del concepto adicción, aunque no significativamente del concepto juego patológico. Como conclusión se destaca el papel revelador que tiene este tipo de intervenciones sobre la población joven en lo referido al uso de las TIC y las adicciones a juegos de azar, virtuales y apuestas.ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of the educational program "Cubilete" for the prevention of addictions to Internet, mobile, games and online bets in students of Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, designed by the Alujer Association. The sample consisted of a total of 637 students from different centers in the city of Jaén (Spain). The instrument to measure the effectiveness of the program in a pre- and post-test measure was the school Cuestionario escolar de creencias, actitudes y usos de tecnologías, juegos virtuales y apuestas online (CCAU), made ad hoc. The intervention lasted 4 weeks and was carried out during the tutorial hours. The results show a significant reduction in the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), as well as in the frequency in which they are used. There was also an increase in the recognition of addiction to ICT once the intervention was carried out, as well as a greater knowledge of the parents of the use made by their children. Likewise, participation in online gambling and betting is considerably reduced. Finally, there is clarification regarding the meaning of the concept of addiction, although not significantly of the concept of pathological gambling. In conclusion, the revealing role of this type of interventions on the young population in the use of ICT and addictions to gambling, virtual and betting is highlighted.

Resumen. El propósito de este estudio fue observar la relación entre la práctica deportiva de los padres y la realizada por sus hijos con el rendimiento académico y la habilidad cognitiva en niños y niñas de Educación Primaria. Los datos fueron recogidos de dos escuelas de Educación Primaria de una ciudad del sur de España, una pública y otra concertada. Un total de 308 niños de 8 a 12 años (edad = 9,72 ± 1,25 años de edad), participaron en el estudio. Se utilizó un cuestionario sociodemográfico mediante el cual se recabó la información sobre la práctica deportiva, se pidieron las notas del alumnado al centro para analizar el rendimiento académico y se utilizó el instrumento Goodenough-Harris test cogiendo la puntuación bruta de éste para analizar la habilidad cognitiva. Se encontró correlación positiva entre la práctica deportiva de los padres y la realizada por sus hijos (p<,001). También se obtuvieron resultados positivos en la asociación de la práctica deportiva del alumnado con su rendimiento académico (p<,001) y su habilidad cognitiva (p<,000). En conclusión, se confirma la existencia de una relación entre la mayor práctica deportiva realizada por los padres y la de sus hijos que a la vez influye en el rendimiento académico y la habilidad cognitiva del alumnado sugiriendo con esto que un aumento de la práctica deportiva de los padres y los hijos proporcionaría beneficios cognitivos.Palabras clave: Deporte, rendimiento académico, habilidad cognitiva, niños, Educación Primaria ASSOCIATION BETWEEN FAMILY SPORT AND COGNITIVE ABILITY OF STUDENTSAbstract. The purpose of the study was to observe the relationship between parents' sport practice and their children's sport practice. We also compare children's sport practice with their academic achievement and cognitive ability. Data were collected from two schools of primary education in southern Spain.
