RESUMO Em algumas construções são necessárias intervenções para restabelecer ou aumentar a capacidade de suporte da estrutura antes de atingir um estado limite. Os Polímeros Reforçados com Fibra de Carbono (CFRP) são um dos mais adequados como elemento de reforço estrutural por ser um material de alto desempenho mecânico e elevado módulo de elasticidade, resistência à fadiga e baixo peso específico. Este trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a eficiência de materiais compósitos de Polímeros Reforçados com Fibras de Carbono (CFRP) como reforço estrutural em vigas de concreto armado, por meio de ensaios experimentais e simulação numérica. Nos ensaios, a armadura da viga de concreto foi dimensionada com resistência insuficiente ao cisalhamento. Nas vigas de referência, inicialmente, surgiram fissuras de cisalhamento, e em seguida as vigas romperam-se à flexão. Nas vigas com CRFP, que foram dimensionadas como reforço ao cisalhamento, as vigas não apresentaram fissuras de cisalhamento e romperam à flexão. Não houve acréscimo significativo da carga máxima. Em apenas uma viga houve o descolamento da fibra de carbono em um dos bordos da estrutura, mostrando boa eficiência do adesivo utilizado. As simulações numéricas foram realizadas utilizando o Método dos Elementos Finitos (MEF) no software ANSYS 18.1. Os resultados obtidos no modelo numérico ficaram próximos aos resultados experimentais.

Bond Behavior of Cleaned Corroded Lap Spliced Beams Repaired with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Sheets and Partial Depth Repairs

The present research investigated the bond behavior of a cleaned corroded reinforcing bar repaired with a partial depth concrete repair and a partial depth concrete repair followed by the application of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) sheets. Twelve lap splice beams were cast and tested under static loading. The test variables considered were a partial depth repair with prepackaged self-consolidating concrete (SCC) for six lap splice beams and additional confinement with carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets for another six beams. The test results for the repaired lap splice beams were compared with those for a monolithic lap splice beam. This research found that the average bond strength increased as the bar mass loss increased for all bonded lengths. The lap splice beams repaired with partial depth were able to repair concrete with similar properties to those of the monolithic concrete. However, they had higher concrete strength than the monolithic beams which showed a higher average bond strength than the monolithic lap splice beams. The beams confined with FRP sheets showed a rise in the bond strength and the equivalent slip by 34–49%, and 56–260% as compared to the unconfined beams, respectively.

This paper presents an experimental study on the effect of the waste plastic and the fibre-reinforced polymer on the shear behaviour of the rectangular reinforced concrete beams. The experimental program was aimed to study the ductility of the beam that replaced the steel stirrups with the laminate of carbon fibre reinforced polymer as a transverse while the glass fibre reinforced polymer GFRP as longitudinal reinforced and add the waste plastic polyethylene terephthalate PET with different percentage 0.5%, 1%, and 1.5%. The parameters of this investigated include the percentage of waste plastic polyethylene terephthalate PET and the percentage of CFRP that replaced with steel which equals 50%, 100%, and 150% from the steel strips. All beams cast with the dimensions 150mm width, 200mm height, and 1400mm length to test under two-point load. The results of this paper showed that the clear effect of the polyethylene terephthalate PET on the shear behaviour of beams which enhanced the ductility, ultimate deflection, ultimate load, and stiffness. Besides to the results above the fibre reinforced concrete beam considered more safety against the corrosion because the fibre had a good corrosion resistance and also reduced the pollution in environmental due to the large amount of waste plastic bottles that produce each year
