Although 3D printing (3DP) technology has become an increasingly popular educational tool in recent years, very little is known about the learning benefits of this technology. This systematic literature review synthesized empirical research on learning with 3DP in various educational settings, focusing on publication and study participants' characteristics, curriculum areas, research methodologies, instructional approaches, educational outcomes and benefits. A comprehensive survey of published and unpublished studies identified 78 empirical studies that met the inclusion criteria. In addition to positive effects on learning, 3DP facilitated innovative curriculum development and created opportunities for cross‐disciplinary research. The findings revealed five major trends in 3DP learning: (1) prepare a new generation of engineers, (2) democratize additive manufacturing technology and production, (3) support learning using low‐cost 3D printed learning aids, (4) produce assistive technologies, and (5) promote creativity and innovation. The review identifies critical gaps in the literature and offers suggestions for future research.

Desde que la Organización Mundial de la Salud elevó la situación de emergencia de salud pública ocasionada por el COVID-19 a pandemia internacional, la rapidez en la evolución de los hechos, a escala nacional e internacional, ha requerido la adopción de medidas inmediatas y eficaces para hacer frente a esta coyuntura. En este contexto, han surgido iniciativas y soluciones desde la solidaridad y la innovación, con el objetivo de paliar la escasez de material sanitario y de equipos de protección individual. La impresión 3D ha sido una alternativa tecnológica usada con éxito para darle una respuesta rápida y efectiva a la necesidad de fabricar material sanitario y de protección para los profesionales. A nivel educativo, la irrupción de la tecnología de impresión 3D presenta el reto de conocer cómo estos medios tecnológicos pueden dar soporte a actividades de enseñanza-aprendizaje, utilizados como vía para adquirir conocimiento y desarrollar capacidades organizativas y de creación, así como el de la cultura “maker”, en la que se potencia que los individuos creen artefactos adaptados a sus necesidades o mejoren los ya existentes, utilizando la tecnología. Como docentes debemos educar para cooperar, inculcar valores…, dando ejemplo a nuestros estudiantes, futuros docentes en formación inicial. Diseño e impresión en 3d de 8656 protectores de pantallas faciales con implicación de docentes universitarios en un grupo makers durante dos meses, se utilizaron programas de diseño como Tinkercad, Blender (Windows 10), OpenScad, FreeCad, entre otros; y aproximadamente 80 impresoras, trabajando por el bien común, la cooperación, la justicia social, la equidad y la solidaridad conseguiremos una sociedad mejor para todos.

Application of STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, art, and Mathematic) in Early Childhood Education is a form of an educational revolution that integrates various fields of Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics in one child's play activities. The STEAM approach supports the development of children's scientific inquiry and equips children with the ability to design the process of how a tool works. This research is a part of the KIT STEAM research development in learning in Early Childhood Education aimed at introducing scientific inquiry early on. The application of magnetic books in learning is analyzed by qualitative methods. 3 groups of students from Early Childhood Education Institutions were involved in this study. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation that were analyzed by triangulation. The results showed that the use of the magnetic book theme "Myself" as KIT STEAM in learning in Early Childhood Education/kindergarten provided opportunities for students to explore, analyze and create. Students could practice doing their discoveries through the activities of manipulating various manipulative pieces. The various manipulative pieces were designed to stimulate students to think at a higher level with the assistance of inquiry questions from the teacher. Student thinking results could be seen from the placement of manipulative pieces of images placed on the page (magnetic sheet).
