“…A representative subset of section data are in Fig. 15, focusing on studies across the Tithonian-Kimmeridgian boundary (Ogg et al, 1984;Muttoni et al, 2018;Grabowski et al, 2019). Statistical correlation Option B is supported by the correlation of the normal-polarity-dominated interval of the Platynota Zone and overlying Hypselocycum Zone, to the normal-polarity-dominated interval M25n-M24Bn.…”

“…However, this position is not universally accepted, with some placing the base Tithonian within the older M23n (Pavia et al, 2004; as shown in Fig. 15), or younger within the lower part or base of M22n (Muttoni et al, 2018;Grabowski et al, 2019).…”

“…This parameter is the ‐(IRM ‐100mT /IRM 1T ) ratio and is used to determine the ratio of high coercivity minerals to low coercivity minerals (e.g. Grabowski et al ., 2019). The MMPM 10 pulse magnetiser was used to magnetise the samples, and the JR 6‐A spinner magnetometer was used to measure the magnetic remanent.…”

“…In the Velykyi Kamianets section in the Ukraine Carpathians, the Chitinoidella and Praetintinnopsella zones have been detected in the Czorsztyn Limestone Formation (an equivalent of the upper nodular limestones), and the Crassicollaria and Calpionella zones -in the Calpionella-bearing Dursztyn Limestone Formation (Grabowski et al, 2019). The Boneti Subzone is represented by a diverse association, whereas the Dobeni Subzone is only indicated by its index-species as in many other Carpathian sections.…”

“…The Boneti Subzone is represented by a diverse association, whereas the Dobeni Subzone is only indicated by its index-species as in many other Carpathian sections. Grabowski et al (2019) presented a correlation between calpionellid zonation and magnetostratigraphy across the Tithonian/Berriasian boundary in several sections of the Trans-Danubian and Carpathian regions. This direct correlation has revealed that the base of the Boneti Subzone approximates the base of M20r magnetic chron, the top of the Remanei Subzone -the base of M19r magnetic chron, and the base of the Ferasini Subzone correlates well with the M18r chron.…”
