Integrated Optimization of Input/Output Point Assignment and Twin Stackers Scheduling in Multi-Input/Output Points Automated Storage and Retrieval System by Ant Colony Algorithm

Abstract: This paper researches the problem of operational optimization in the multiple-input/output (multi-I/O) points automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS), where the destination addresses of the retrieval requests are unknown, twin stackers work simultaneously in the same aisle and cannot cross each other, and each stacker can carry two cargo units at the same time. The problem is formalized as an integrated optimization problem with noncrossing constraint for the I/O point assignment and the storage/retriev… Show more

“…Equation ( 7) indicates the bi-objective that contains the total operation time in AS/RS and the maximum makespan in production. Equation (8) represents that each task can only correspond to one position in racks. Equation (9) indicates the relationship between the start operation time and the end operation time of the retrieval tasks.…”

“…Hachemi et al [7] determined the integration of the storage allocation and picking paths based on storage and retrieval requests with the objective of travel time. Song and Mu [8] studied the sequence sorting problem with large-scale storage/retrieval requests in AS/RS and proposed a heuristic algorithm based on assignment. Geng et al [9] proposed a new improved Genetic Algorithm (GA) tiers.…”

“…Various innovative automated storage and retrieval systems are introduced in past years. The few storages system has faced some drawbacks such as greater basement use, flexible throughput capacity, low-cost investment, double and multiple deep automated storage/retrieval systems, individual vehicle system, and so on [6], [7]. The recent material handling system acquire the compact storage structure named the framework of multiple dimensional storage when compared to the ancient individual deep warehousing system [8].…”
