Integrated Filtering Microstrip Duplex Antenna Array with High Isolation

Abstract: This paper presents a 2 × 1 integrated filtering microstrip duplex antenna array with high isolation and same polarization. The antenna consists of two radiating patches fed by two T-shaped probes and a power distributing duplex network (PDDN). The PDDN is composed of two bandstop filters and a 180-degree phase shift power divider. And the PDDN is designed to achieve the functions of power division, frequency selectivity, and port isolation. A Transmission Line (TL) model is adopted to design the PDDN, and the… Show more

“…It is orthogonally polarized and reradiates the power to minimize the original field around the Rx antenna. Furthermore, in [26], a power distributing duplex network is employed to obtain high isolation of about 45 dB between the two input ports. As for the one presented in [27], the electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structure is inserted between two closely located monopole antennas to improve isolation.…”

“…Another way is to use a circulator to share one antenna for both transmitting and receiving [17,18]. Isolators, such as the parasitic elements, metamaterial inspired isolators, and electromagnetic bandgap structures, have also been studied in previous research [19][20][21][22]. These passive approaches can be easily realized, but the isolation performance is normally limited, especially when the interference channel varies in time.…”

“…In Reference , a multimode resonator is used as the synthesis network of the filtering duplex antenna to realize high order filtering performance. In Reference , two bandstop filters and a 180° phase shift power divider are employed to constitute a feeding network of the filtering duplex antenna array, forming high ports isolation. However, they are essentially the structure of antenna cascaded with duplex, the integration is not enough.…”
