At present, the transformation of energy structure is at a critical stage, and emerging renewable energy technologies and multienergy equipment have been widely used. How to improve the energy efficiency of integrated energy system (IES) and promote large-scale absorption of renewable energy is of great significance to the application forms of energy in the future. The development of new internet technology and sensor technology provides strong technical support for the optimal operation and coordinated control of IES. In recent years, the IES is experiencing unprecedented changes, which has attracted great attention from academia and industry. In this paper, the optimal control and operation behavior of IES are reviewed. Firstly, the research status of IES in recent years is summarized. Then, the modeling methods of different equipment in IES are analyzed in detail. The optimal operation of user, regional, and cross-regional IES are taken as typical research objects and the research status of optimization problems and operation modes, energy management planning, and power market allocation are summarized and analyzed. Finally, the key scientific issues and related frontier technologies in the IES are concluded, and the future research directions are prospected.

Robust Optimization of Energy Hubs Operation Based on Extended Affine Arithmetic

Traditional energy systems were planned and operated independently, but the diffusion of distributed and renewable energy systems led to the development of new modeling concepts, such as the energy hub. The energy hub is an integrated paradigm, based on the challenging idea of multi-carrier energy systems, in which multiple inputs are conditioned, converted and stored in order to satisfy different types of energy demand. To solve the energy hub optimal scheduling problem, uncertainty sources, such as renewable energy production, price volatility and load demand, must be properly considered. This paper proposes a novel methodology, based on extended Affine Arithmetic, which enables the solving of the optimal scheduling problem in the presence of multiple and heterogeneous uncertainty sources. Realistic case studies are presented and discussed in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

The peak-valley difference of power grid will be enlarged significantly with the increasing number of integrated energy systems (IESs) connecting to power grids, which may cause a high operation cost and voltage violations. This study proposes an IES configuration method considering the peak-valley difference of the tie line between IES and power grid. An optimal configuration model of IES is established, which takes the sum of the annual operating cost of the power grid and annual cost of IES as objectives, while the tie line transmission power between IES and power grid are considered as constraints. The elite energy reserve genetic algorithm and branch and bound method are used to solve the proposed model, while the optimal power flow is used to calculate the grid operation cost under a given transmission power of the tie line. The simulation results of an improved IEEE30 node system verify the validity of the proposed method.
