Measuring the flexibility of the red chilli supply chain is very necessary to determine how flexible the supply chain is to changes and fluctuation that may be faced by each red chilli supply chain actor in Panjatan District. The purpose of this studyis to describe the structure of supply chain relationships based on the actors and their activities and to analysis the flexibility of red chilli supply chain in Panjatan District, Kulon Progo Regency. Kulon Progo Regency was chosen deliberately as the research location because it has highest level of red chilli production in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Sampling in this study was carried out in several stages starting from Panjatan District, Garongan Village, and Sub-Village 1 and 3. Garongan village was chosen as the sampling location because in 2019 it had the largest number and member of the auction market among other village. The determination of farmer respondents was carried out by purposive sampling method of 80 people. Respondents other than farmers that is 2 auction market manager, 2 district-level collectors, 1 regency-level wholesaler, and 4 regency-level retailers were determined by the snowball sampling method. The method for measuring flexibility is Performance Measurement System (PMS). The result of this research is showed that the structure of the red chili supply chain relationship in Panjatan District, Kulon Progo Regency consist of 2 chains that is chains 1 formed by 5 actors and chain 2 formed by 4 actors and having activities started from red chili cultivation, sorting, grading, weighing, packaging, pricing, bidding, transportation, shipping update information on price and quantities of red chilies, sales, purchase, receiving payments, and making payments. The result of the supply chain flexibility is showed that chain 2 more flexible than chain 1..

Increasing production and income of chili farmers requires technological innovation that is both technically and economically efficient. The aims of the study were: 1) to determine the agronomic and financial performance of Chili Double Fold Production (Proliga) technology, 2) to determine the attitudes and perceptions of farmers towards the Chili Proliga technology and the other introduced varieties. The study was conducted in Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province, Indonesia in 2020. The chili varieties planted were cayenne pepper varieties Prima Agrihorti, and varieties Dewata, large chili varieties Ciko, Tanjung 2 and Inata Agrihorti hybrid. Farming financial was analyzed descriptively by calculating revenue, cost, profit and R/C. Farmers’ attitudes towards Proliga technology used Fishbein’s Multi-attribute Model analysis, and farmer perceptions used Perceptual Mapping. The results showed that the application of chili Proliga technology increased productivity of chili peppers. The results of farm financial analysis showed that chili farming with Proliga technology has an RC ratio of more than 1 which means it was feasible and efficient to implement. The attitude of farmers towards chili Proliga technology was superior when compared to the existing technology, particularly in the attributes of crop performance, productivity, and farming profits compared to the existing technology of farmers.

Teknologi Produksi Lipat Ganda (Proliga) cabai merah merupakan paket teknologi yang terdiri atas beberapa komponen teknologi yang dirangkai sehingga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas cabai merah hingga 20 ton/ha. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan studi awal mengenai sifat inovasi dan potensi adopsi paket teknologi Proliga cabai merah berdasarkan persepsi petani. Sebuah demplot teknologi Proliga cabai merah dilakukan di Kecamatan Banyuresmi, Kabupten Garut, Jawa Barat. Demplot tersebut melibatkan 30 orang petani partisipatif untuk dapat melihat seluruh komponen teknologi dari awal pesemaian hingga panen. Setelah demplot dipanen, petani selanjutnya ditanya mengenai persepsi mereka terhadap paket teknologi yang diperkenalkan berdasarkan dimensi-dimensi karakteristik inovasi, yaitu: keunggulan relatif, kesesuaian, kerumitan, kemudahan untuk diamati, dan kemudahan untuk diuji coba. Selain itu juga ditanyakan mengenai sejauh mana potensi adopsi dari masing-masing komponen teknologi oleh petani. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas responden memberikan jawaban positif terhadap komponen-komponen teknologi yang diperkenalkan berdasarkan lima dimensi karakteristik inovasi. Meskipun terdapat responden yang memiliki sikap negatif terutama pada dimensi kesesuaian, secara keseluruhan komponen-komponen teknologi yang diperkenalkan memiliki karakteristik inovasi yang tinggi dan sangat tinggi. Mayoritas petani menyatakan sikap yang positif terhadap potensi adopsi paket teknologi Proliga cabai merah.KeywordsCabai merah; Produksi lipat ganda; Sifat inovasi; Persepsi petaniAbstractMultiple Production Technology (Proliga) of chili is a technology package consisting of several technological components so that it can increase the productivity of chili up to 20 tons/ha. This study aims to conduct an initial survey of the characteristics of innovation and the potential for adoption of the chili’s Proliga technology package. A demonstration plot for chili’s Proliga technology was conducted in Banyuresmi Subdistrict, at Garut District, West Java. The demonstration plot involved 30 participatory farmers in being able to see all technological components from the beginning of the nursery until harvested. After the demonstration plot is completed, farmers will be asked about their perceptions of the technological package introduced based on the dimensions of innovation characteristics, such as relative advantage, suitability, complexity, easiness to observe, and trialability. It was also asked about the extent of the potential adoption of each component of technology by farmers. The results showed that the majority of respondents gave definite answers to the components of technology that were introduced based on the five dimensions of innovation characteristics, although there were still many respondents who had negative attitudes especially in the dimensions of suitability. Overall the technology components introduced have high and very high innovation characteristics. The majority of farmers expressed a positive attitude towards the potential adoption of the chili’s Proliga technology package.
