Abstract-Electromagnetic waves scattering in turbulent anisotropic collision magnetized ionospheric plasma is investigated using complex geometrical optics approximation.Correlation function of the phase fluctuations of scattered radiation is obtained taking into account both electron density and magnetic fields fluctuations. The features of the angular power spectrum of scattered radiation are investigated analytically and numerically. The expressions of broadening of the spatial spectrum have been obtained for both powerlaw and anisotropic Gaussian correlation functions of electron density fluctuations. Gaussian spectral function takes into account the axial ratio of the field-aligned irregularities and the angle of inclination of prolate irregularities with respect to the external magnetic field. The variance of the phase and scintillation level of scattered radiation are calculated numerically for F -region irregularities of the ionosphere. The conditions of non-fully and fully developed diffraction patterns have been determined.

Abstract-The properties of higher order radial modes of electromagnetic azimuthal surface-type waves (ASW) which propagate in partially plasma-filled cylindrical waveguides without external magnetic field are analyzed using analytical and numerical techniques. For a waveguide with plasma surrounded by dielectric material and encased in metal, the eigenfrequencies for higher order radial modes are obtained. It is found that the ASW higher radial modes propagate with shorter vacuum wavelength than the zeroth order radial modes and that the more favourable conditions for higher order radial mode propagation are for ASW's with larger azimuthal wavenumber in waveguides with wider dielectric layer and larger dielectric constant. A further salient feature of ASW higher radial modes is that a change in plasma waveguide parameters causes a drastic change in ASW eigenfrequency in contrast to the zero-th order modes which have a smoother frequency variation with effective wavenumber.

Abstract-Excitation of electromagnetic ion-cyclotron instability in the magneto plasma in the presence of perpendicular A.C. electric field for a generalized distribution function for background cold electrons and hot ion plasma has been studied. This distribution function is reducible to anisotropic and loss-cone type for different values of spectral index j. The particle trajectories have been estimated and used to find the dispersion relation and growth rate by using the method of characteristic solutions. Temporal electromagnetic ion cyclotron instability for various plasma parameters has been studied. The role of choice of parameters, distribution function and simultaneous presence of A.C. electric field is studied for excitation of electromagnetic ion cyclotron instability. The results have been used to explain the satellite observations of AMPTE/CCE and compared with earlier work done for temperature anisotropy and other types of distribution functions using other techniques.
