Abstract: Most glycosides in herbal medicines become pharmacologically active after hydrolysis or subsequent metabolism to respective aglycones. Hence, the hydrolytic efficiency of glycosidase is a crucial determinant of the pharmacological efficacy of herbal glycosides.
