From the counting rates — measured at room temperatures — of neutrons inelastically scattered on water and special aqueous UO2(ClO4)2 solutions the averaged frequencies of the superposition bands of the hindered translations and hindered torsions of the water were determined. In this, the Bravais lattice approximation was used for determining the phonon density function. The change of these frequencies in the presence of electrolytes is in harmony with diffusion parameters such as lifetime of an H2O molecule in a pseudo lattice site, diffusive step length and amplitude of thermal cloud, which follow from the model evaluations of the measured spectra of the quasielastic neutron scattering.

A pseudopotential calculation of the phonon dispersion curves and the phonon density of states of CaMg, is done using Shaw's model pseudopotential in second order. Moreover on a polycrystalline sample the phonon density of states is determined by coherent inelastic neutron scattering following the suggestion of Bredov et al. Good agreement between the calculated and measured results is obtained. The experimental accuracy is investigated by calculating the neutron scattering cross section from the theoretical phonon spectrum.Die Phononendispersionskurven und die Phononenzustandsdichte von CaMg, werden mit Hilfe der Shaw-Modell-Pseudopotentiale in zweiter Storungsordnung berechnet. AuDerdem wird an einer polykristallinen Probe mit Hilfe der kohirenten inelastischen Neutronenstreuung entsprechend der von Bredov u. a. vorgeschlagenen Methode die Phononenzustandsdichte bestimmt. Die Vbereinstimmung zwischen den berechneten und gemessenen Ergebnissen ist gut. Die Me& genauigkeit wird durch Berechnung des Streuquerschnitts aus dem theoretischen Phononenspektrum untersucht.
