Background: Technology is often introduced into sport to facilitate it or to improve human performance within it. On occasion, some forms of novel technology require regulation or prevention entirely to ensure that a sport remains fair and accessible. Recently, the Nike Vaporfly and Alphafly shoes have received some concerns over their appropriateness for use in competitive distance running. Methods: This paper evaluates the use of these shoes against an existing framework for sports technology discourse and adopts a pragmatic approach to attempt to resolve them. Results: It is proposed that the three concerns regarding cost, access and coercion cannot be ruled out but likely remain short-term issues. As a result, it is proposed that these running shoes are acceptable forms of technology but that ongoing vigilance will be required as such technologies develop further in the future. Conclusions: The Nike Vaporfly/Alphafly shoes do push the perceived acceptability of running shoes to the limits of the current sports regulations. However, the alleged gains have not manifested themselves to a level that could be considered excessive when reviewing historical performances or when evaluated against a set of well-cited criteria. The sport will need to adopt a stance of ongoing vigilance as such technologies continue to develop or be optimised in the future.

The study aims to test the effectiveness of an Elevation Training Mask (ETM) on metabolic parameters, such as maximal oxygen consumption (VO2 max), Hemoglobin level (HB), and heart rate variability (HRV). Method: In an experimental approach, the participants (N=30) were divided into two (i)an experimental group doing HIIT training use Elevation Training Mask (ETM) and(ii) a control group involved in their ordinary training session. Experimental groups underwent 8 weeks of high-intensity cycle ergometer interval training using Elevation Training Mask (ETM). Pre and two post-test between four weeks of the test included the above parameters. Results:The finding shows that there is a significant difference in the effect of Elevation Training Mask (ETM) on the (VO2 max), Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and the Hemoglobin level (HB) on the pre-test and post-test of Kedah Under 17 Footballers. Apart from that, there is also analysis showing that the control group (S) had only improved at a minimum level over the training period while the (HE) group had portrayed excellent improvement throughout training and testing. Impact: The study is to help the country improve the performance of athletes, this study is expected to inspire and spark ideas in the country's sports activists, especially coaches and national athletes. Conclusions: The eight-week HIIT+ Elevation Training Mask program improved cardiorespiratory fitness and hematological variables in all participants. Future research would be investigate further about the physiological changes in the use of the Elevation Training Mask in certain games.

Metaverse sports arena is gaining popularity globally that empowers virtual reality sporting experience through digital avatars. The main objective of the current study is to explore the impact of the Metaverse-based virtual reality sporting experience on the endurance performance of young Chinese athletes, with the mediating role of their mental health condition and performance anxiety. The study's participants mainly included Chinese athletes, especially the sample group is an accurate depiction of young athletes using a convenience sampling approach. SEM-AMOS statistical software was used for the analysis and validation of the proposed relationships. The study findings statistically validate that mental health and performance anxiety fully mediate the direct associations between virtual reality sporting experiences and the endurance performance of young Chinese athletes. Interestingly, the mental health condition of the young Chinese athletes imposes a greater impact on their endurance performance, in contrast to the adverse effects of their performance anxiety. The outcomes of the present research guide young athletes on the opportunities to enhance their virtual reality sporting abilities and boost their endurance performance. Policymakers can also build systems to dissolve physical and geographical barriers, reduce performance anxiety, and sustain mental health in virtual reality sporting events through the metaverse.
