Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an important asset in construction projects from conceptual planning, pre-construction to operation stage. While many construction projects in developed countries are gradually implementing BIM, the development of this technology in developing countries is still lagging behind. Some research results state that the application of BIM for certain uses can improve the performance of construction projects, but in Indonesia its use is still very less. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the factors what can answer the challenges in the sustainability of BIM implementation in construction projects in Indonesia for success in its life cycle.. Data were obtained from 44 respondents who answered the questionnaire questions, are owners, supervisory consultants, and contractors representing construction parties in Indonesia. Empirical analysis using multiple linear regression states that there are five factors which, if sustainably support the application of BIM, will affect the success of construction project management in its life cycle. The ranking of five factors based on the results of the analysis is Understanding and Awareness of the importance of BIM; Establishment of BIM standards, codes, rules, and regulations; Competencies and Skills; Commitment and Consistency; and Monitoring and Evaluation. The development of BIM has resulted in new work processes and new ways to interact in a construction project throughout its life cycle.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a sharing platform that can present a parametric 3D model with various project information in the form of a digital display. In recent years, BIM adoption has become increasing globally as the Architectural, Engineering, Construction (AEC) industry has recognised its benefits. Meanwhile, many challenges of BIM adoption in different countries have been well documented. To address the gap in literature, this study examines the differences and similarities of BIM adoption between New Zealand and China. A questionnaire was conducted across the two countries to investigate the barriers and strategies for the implementation of BIM. Data from 146 respondents was collected in New Zealand and China. The result shows that there is a difference in the perception of Knowledge Barrier, Technology Barrier, Internal Strategy and External Strategy (Legal/Technology viewpoint) between New Zealand professionals and Chinese professionals. The differences identified offer important implications for government agencies to promote BIM implementation and for BIM service providers to better target the end-users.

Currently, BIM has been widely applied in structural design and construction management work. However, there has not been much BIM implementation in evaluating existing structures. Thus, BIM was implemented in this study to evaluate the structural capacity and seismic responses of low-rise buildings due to earthquake loads. The case study was conducted on the Pakubuwono X Mosque building, designed in 2017 based on SNI 2847:2013, SNI 1726:2012, and SNI 1727:2013. This research was carried out numerically by involving the interconnection of Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Robot SAP software, which worked within the BIM framework. The structural model of the Pakubuwono X Mosque building was developed using Autodesk Revit, which was connected to Autodesk Robot SAP for analysis and structural design processes. Furthermore, the design products of Autodesk Robot SAP are reconnected with Autodesk Revit to be integrated with architectural and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) design products. In this study, the structural capacity evaluation was carried out on the floor slabs, beams, and columns. Furthermore, the seismic response in the form of modal participation mass ratio, fundamental period, base shear, and story drift are also reviewed in this study. In conclusion, all structural elements (floor slabs, beams, and columns) are adequate to support the design load as indicated by the demand-capacity ratio (D/C Ratio), which is less than 1.0. Furthermore, all parameters of seismic response reviewed in this research comply with the requirements set out in SNI 1726:2012.
