Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have become a vibrant and dynamic sector of the world economy. Information technology plays a vital role in improving the productivity and competitiveness of SMEs. The dynamic business environment has brought fierce competition among SMEs and, therefore, requires the owners to interact with internal and external members actively. Hence, this study aims to investigate the impact of technology, organization, and environment as important factors in the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises. It also examines the mediating role of social media adoption. Items were developed to measure the various purposes of social media use in organizations, which contribute to increasing the measurement of social media usage. For the empirical investigation, this paper used a closed-ended questionnaire. Using a quantitative method, we observed 423 responses through structural equation modeling. The findings of the study indicate that technology, organization, and the environment play effective roles for SME performance. More importantly, social media adoption positively mediates the relationship between technology, organization, environment, and SME performance. The study also helps organizations realize the advantages of using social media and specifies the rationale behind an organization’s investment in social media.

Best Practices of Capital City Relocation in Various Countries: Literature Review

Capital city relocation issue is currently emerging due to the condition and problem Indonesia encounters. Study toward some cases of capital city relocation could be crucial input for analysis and comparison. This paper aims to review capital city relocation examples. Literature review shows there are variances in background and driving factors internally or externally, and infrastructure needs for city development. The driving factors consist of environmental pressure, pollution, urban heat island, housing, urban sprawl, and disaster. The infrastructures required for the development of a new capital city are information and communication technology (ICT), physical infrastructure, transportation, and open green space. From the analysis, Myanmar’s Yangon to Naypyidaw relocation and Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur to Putrajaya relocation are the best practices in capital city development that boosts new activities and urban extension. Burma shows the infrastructure’s role in development of a new capital city and Kuala Lumpur reveals how ICT implementation helps to establish a new capital city. This paper is expected to fill the research gap from previous research in terms of reviews related to the need for ICT in capital city preparation. This indicates that this paper has followed the trend of ICT advancement. The next research and publication will strengthen the use of ICT as one of the variables.

This study aims to identify the impact of information technology governance in reducing cloud accounting information systems Risks in Kuwaiti telecommunications companies. The study population represented by all Kuwaiti telecommunications companies, which number (3) companies. The sampling unit consisted of workers in the upper and middle management of Kuwaiti telecommunications companies. The researcher distributed (327) questionnaires electronically, the researcher retrieved (291) questionnaires, of which (269) were valid for statistical analysis. The results indicated that the relative importance of all dimensions of information technology governance. The results demonstrate the importance of the role of information technology governance in reducing cloud accounting information systems risks. Also, that all information technology governance dimensions (Align, Plan and Organize, Build, Acquire and Implement, Deliver, Service and Support, Monitor, Evaluate and Assess) affect the cloud accounting information systems risks reduction in Kuwaiti telecommunications companies.
