“…respectively. The thickness of BNM film was about 100 nm that has been reported in the previous report (not shown here) [21]. Four peaks (0 0 2), (1 0 2), (1 1 0), and (0 0 4) were observed in the XRD pattern of the sandwich structural STO/BNM/STO thin film.…”

“…The SrTiO 3 (STO) thin layer was prepared by magnetron sputtering (China SKY Technology development Co. Ltd., CAS, JGP-450A) for 30 min. The detailed process could be found in elsewhere [21]. The preparation for BNM precursor solution could be described as follows.…”

“…Until now, there have been only a few reports about the ferroelectricity of BNM double perovskite thin films, especially at room temperature. 25 A saturated polarization of about 5 lC/cm 2 was reported by Sakai et al in Bi 2 NiMnO 6 thin films deposited on a SrTiO 3 single-crystal substrate by PLD in 2007, at 7 K. 14 Figure 3 plots the leakage current density (J) versus the applied voltage (V) for the BNM/LNM and BNM/LNO thin films on Pt/Ti/SiO 2 /Si(100) substrates from 15 V to À15 V. Asymmetric J-E characteristics can be observed for the BNM/LNM thin film. The leakage current density was below 7.1 9 10 À3 A/cm 2 at positive bias and 1 9 10 À1 A/ cm 2 at negative bias.…”

“…50 They measured a polarization of 5 µC/cm 2 and a magnetic Curie temperature of 100 K. Their films displayed a pseudotetragonal structure with a = b = 3.91 Å (matching the substrate) and c = 3.87 Å, described as rather different from the bulk one, while keeping the same rock-salt pattern. 51 Using a chemical solution deposition method, Lai et al 52 grew Bi 2 NiMnO 6 films with and without SrTiO 3 buffer layers on a Pt(111)/Ti/SiO 2 /Si(100) substrate, obtaining polarizations around 6 and 8 µC/cm 2 . Again, the situation can be compared to that of BiMnO 3 , where polarizations between 9 and 23 µC/cm 2 have been reported for films, [53][54][55] even if the bulk is nonpolar.…”
