“…Fibers with a flattened end with a circular cross‐sectional area shows that shear strength increases linearly with increase in amount of fibers, whereas fibers with crimped geometry, shear strength approach to plateau, and then no increase in shear strength were observed with increases in dosage of fibers . Concrete is considered brittle material, but ductile behavior was observed after adding a suitable amount of fibers . Properties of fiber RC highly depend on the types of fibers and their aspect ratio.…”

“…8 Concrete is considered brittle material, but ductile behavior was observed after adding a suitable amount of fibers. 9,10 Properties of fiber RC highly depend on the types of fibers and their aspect ratio. Steel fibers, polymeric fibers, glass fibers, carbon fibers, and natural fibers are mostly used in concrete.…”

“…In addition, in the recent years, important efforts have been devoted to develop new types of synthetic fibres [16]. There is little information available in literature about the fracture properties of modified polypropylene macro fibre reinforced composites.…”

“…The combination of bent-up bars with stirrups can achieved higher shear capacity and gradual failure of wide beams. Conforti et al [7] conducted shear tests on 14 wide shallow beams with different widths and depths to evaluate shear performance. The experimental results indicated that wide shallow beams with width-to-effective depth ratio from 2 to 3 enhanced shear behavior, and shear equations of current codes do not consider the extra resistance in shear of wide shallow beams.…”
