“…The significant decrease in cell viability, possibly due to the leakage of cellular inclusions or cell rupture by downshock, observed in the Mg2+-and homospddeficient cells (Table 3) may offer another aspect of the role of homospd in rhizobial cells, The possible involvement of polyamines in membrane or cell-wall stability has been inferred from many in vitro and in vivo studies (Peter e t al., 1978;Schuber, 1989). In addition to the function of homeostatic buffering, homospd, newly formed in response to the osmotic downshift, might have a protective function for rhizobial cells exposed to low osmotic environments.…”

“…Furthermore, these water-soluble polyamines are strongly basic, aliphatic multivalent cationic nitrogenated molecule which acquires a highly protonated primary amino groups at physiological pH (Gupta et al 2013(Gupta et al , 2014. Owing to the high affinity of bacterial cells towards these polycationic aliphatic amines, like other cationic synthetic polymers, they may be able to interact with the negatively charged phospholipids (membrane heads) and membrane bound proteins, ion channels, leading to alteration of packing arrangement of the bacterial cells (Schuber 1989). However, there are practically no reports found on usage of putrescine as the capping agent and its advantage through biomimic activity as a better antimicrobial agent mutually along with silver (in nanodimensions).…”

“…It has already been reported that polyamine was associated with acidic phospholipid in the outer membrane of Gram negative bacteria. 35 ) The components of polyamine in the ElM were putrescine, cadaverine, and spermidine. The contents of free type cadaverine and spermidine were 124.8 and 98.0 J.lmoljg, respectively.…”
