“…Sistem penyaliran tambang adalah suatu usaha atau kegiatan yang dilakukan untuk mencegah masuknya air atau mengeluarkan air yang telah masuk ke front tambang (Cahyadi, TA., Widodo, LE., Fajar, RA., Baiqun, A., 2018). Kegiatan ini dimaksudkan untuk mencegah terganggunya aktifitas penambangan akibat adanya air dalam jumlah yang berlebihan terutama pada saat musim penghujan (Syarifuddin dkk., 2017).…”
Coal mining by PT. Tambang Bukit Tambi uses an open pit mining system where one of the factors that can affect mining is water that entering the mining area, so water control must be carried out, one of the ways is by using mine dewatering system. The purpose of this study is 1) To know the debit of water entering the mining area. 2) To design a pumping plan 3) To create an ideal sump design for handling water that entering the mining area. Based on the research, the daily discharge is 32,243.36 m3 / day where the water discharge that can be released by 2 Kenflo XA 125 / 40B pumps is 640 m3 / hour in 50.38 hours and the water control effort is made a sump that must accommodate water amounting to 19,427.26 m3 and after the calculation is obtained a trapezoid-shaped sump design with size length and surface width of 63.7 m, length and width of the base of the sum of 60.9 m and depth of 5 meters.

The presence of groundwater on the slopes of the mine, which means that the slopes are saturated with water, will cause a decrease in slope stability. Drain hole is a method that can be applied to decrease groundwater level on a mine slope. This research was conducted to determine the effect of horizontal distance between drain holes on the mine slope on the decrease in groundwater level (groundwater drawdown). Groundwater flow simulation on the slopes of an open pit coal mine with 3 scenarios, without drain holes, 100 m horizontal space between drain holes, and 50 m horizontal space between drain holes, was carried out to answer the goal of this research. The results obtained from the simulation, the third scenario with a distance between drain holes of 50 m has the maximum result compared to the other two scenarios, which are the percentage of groundwater drawdown of 54.1% and groundwater discharge of 167.3 L/s. So it can be concluded that the denser the horizontal distance between the drain holes on the mine slope, the higher the groundwater drawdown on the slope.
“…The overall objective of an open pit dewatering and mine drainage system is to divert or remove water from the excavation to improve operational conditions, minimize mining costs, and enhance safety performance (Beale and Read, 2014). Mine drainage systems refer to the process of preventing water from entering or draining water from the mine face (Cahyadi et al, 2018). This practice is designed to avoid mining operations being interrupted by excessive volumes of water, particularly during the rainy season (Syarifudin et al, 2017).…”
One of the most critical aspects of open pit mining is the dewatering and mine drainage systems. The NCP Open Pit Gold Mine is located in Central Kalimantan. This study area has a range of rainfall intensities and durations from moderate to heavy. Good dewatering is required to manage runoff water and reduce runoff from entering the pit and mine front loading. The study used daily rainfall intensity data from 1994 to 2018. Using the Mononobe Method, the hydrological data for this area were evaluated by determining the value of the rainfall intensity plan. According to the evaluation of rainfall data from 1994 to 2018, the research area saw a rainfall intensity of 86.23 mm/day over a two-year return period. The majority of water extracted from mines is from precipitation and runoff rather than groundwater. An open channel was made around the open pit, flowing water naturally into the sump to reduce water entering the mining area. The water was pumped into the settling pond with 520 m3/hour and 780 m3/hour capacity pumps.
