Influence of Defects on Ferroelastic Phase Transition in InI Single Crystals

Abstract: The influence of the defect subsystem on the behaviour of the structural incommensurate phase in II single crystals was investigated. The correlation between the incommensurate parameter ζ and the piezooptical π2222 tensor component was revealed.PACS numbers: 77.80.ΒhInI single crystals (space group D172h) are typical layered A 3 Β7 compounds with a pronounced anisotropy of the crystalline stucture and the corresponding optical properties [1][2][3][4][5].
