Pseudoparalysis in an infant with otitis media: an evolving presentation of scapular osteomyelitis

Scapular abscesses were present in 9 out of the 13 cases13–16 21 and concomitant septic arthritis of the glenohumeral joint was present in 2 16 18.…”

In 4 of the cases, there was a history of preceding trauma or injury,15 17 19 20 while 1 case involved a 2-year-old girl with end-stage renal disease 18. Four other cases were reported as involving patients of low socioeconomic status, who were living in ‘poor hygienic conditions’ 14.…”
