Abstract:Polarized cells rely on a polarized cytoskeleton for polarized trafficking, oriented migration and spindle orientation during asymmetric cell division. While cytoskeleton remodeling machineries have been extensively characterized at the molecular level, how polarity signaling at the cortex controls remodeling of the cytoskeleton in the cytosol remains elusive. In particular, how the Par complex, the conserved mastermind of polarity during asymmetric cell division, gets assembled and functions is not understood… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
