Incremental value of live/real‐time three‐dimensional transthoracic echocardiography over the two‐dimensional technique in the assessment of left ventricular endocardial rupture with myocardial dissection and contained apical epicardial rupture following myocardial infarction
Abstract:We describe an elderly patient with left ventricular (LV) endocardial rupture with myocardial dissection and contained apical epicardial rupture following acute myocardial infarction in whom live/realtime three-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography (3DTTE) provided incremental value over traditional two-dimensional transthoracic echocardiography (2DTTE) in the assessment of this lesion. To the best of our knowledge, this has not been reported previously.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
