“…Estos resultados son contrarios a los presentados por la mayoría de los estudios, que en general han documentado la existencia de una asociación positiva entre religiosidad y bienestar mental y físico en muestras de adolescentes (Abdel-Khalek, 2014) o adultos (Friedrich-Killinger, 2020; Litalien, Atari y Obasi, 2021; Morton et al, 2017), pero sobre todo en pacientes con enfermedades crónicas, como el cáncer o las cardiopatías (Kearns et al, 2020;Peterman, Fitchett, Brady y Hernandez, 2002;Salsman et al, 2015;Sherman et al, 2015), o pacientes que se sometieron a un procedimiento quirúrgico mayor (Ai, Park, Bu, Rodgers y Tice, 2007; Amjadian, Ehsan, Rostami y Vahedi, 2017; Lucchese y Koenig, 2013).
