Inclusive charged hadron elliptic flow in Au+Au collisions atsNN=7.7–39 GeV

Abstract: A systematic study is presented for centrality, transverse momentum (p T ), and pseudorapidity (η) dependence of the inclusive charged hadron elliptic flow (v 2 ) at midrapidity (|η| < 1.0) in Au + Au collisions at √ s NN = 7.7, 11.5, 19.6,27,and 39

“…[6]. The 10%-40% results are not very different from those obtained with minimum bias events shown previ- ously [5], but now are shown as a function of centrality in the middle panel for protons and antiprotons. In the lower panel the relative difference normalized by v norm 2 , the proton elliptic flow at p T = 1.5 GeV/c, shows a clear centrality dependence with a bigger effect for the more central collisions.…”

“…The data obtained in 2014 at √ s N N = 14.5 GeV were analyzed in the same way as the BES data at the other energies [5]. After a cut on the event vertex along the beam direction of ±70 cm and a cut on the event vertex radial displacement from the mean of 1 cm, there were 17.5 M minimum-bias events available for data analysis.…”

“…impact parameter b < 2 fm) AMPT events with a partonparton scattering cross section σ = 1.5 mb for each system at √ s N N = 200 GeV. There are numerous publications utilizing the AMPT model to describe A + A collisions at RHIC, quoting a full range of input cross section values ranging from σ = 1.5 mb up to σ = 10 mb [15,28,29]. For this study, we have chosen the smallest value from this range to understand how a minimum parton scattering stage contributes to collective motion in these small systems.…”

“…Measurements of particle yields and kinematic distributions in electron-positron (e − +e + ), electron-proton (e ± +p), proton-proton (p(p)+p), proton-nucleus (p+A) and nucleus-nucleus (A+A(B)) collisions are essential for characterizing their global properties and to develop a good understanding of the mechanism(s) for particle production [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. The p+p measurements also provide crucial reference data for studies of nuclear-medium effects in A+A(B) and p+A collisions, as well as improved constraints to differentiate between particle production models and to fine-tune event generators.…”
