Incidence of prolonged postoperative ileus after colorectal surgery: a systematic review and meta‐analysis

Abstract: There is a large variation in the reported incidence of PPOI. A uniform definition of PPOI is needed to allow meaningful inter-study comparisons and to evaluate strategies to prevent PPOI.
