“…The IC 50 value of 68.4 µg/ml obtained from the DPPH method indicates the effectiveness of the plant extract in scavenging DPPH radicals [26] . Another study on the ME of a whole I. quamoclit plant powder revealed the presence of various phytoconstituents, including saponins, phenolic compounds, alkaloids, carbohydrates, tannins, phytosterols, flavonoids, and amino acids [27] .…”

“…As a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease, rheumatoid arthritis is closely related to oxidative stress ( Peng et al, 2021 ). The 60% ethanol extract (extract 4 ) of P. paniculata presented good anti-oxidant activity in DPPH assay, superoxide anion scavenging activity assay, nitric oxide scavenging activity assay, hydrogen peroxide scavenging assay and metal chelating activity ( Kumar et al, 2015 ). In the superoxide anion scavenging assay, extract 4 exhibited more robust activity than the positive control butylated hydroxyanisole.…”

“…We previously showed the immunomodulatory effect of the ethanolic extract of Bougainvillea x buttiana on peritoneal macrophages. 33 Thus, the aim of this study was to expand understanding of the antiinflammatory activity of ethanolic extract from B. xbuttiana in macrophages, J774A.1 stimulated by LPS. Their effects on immune related nitric oxide and cytokines production (TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6), and phagocytic activity were investigated.…”
