Abstract:The aim of this article is to look at, through the case of Juliette Figuier, the often invisible role of intellectual women in the dissemination of scientific culture in France and Brazil. It focuses on her play Gutenberg (1869) which was translated into Portuguese in 1877 and circulated in Brazil.
