In situ XPS data for the uranyl-modified oxides under visible light

Abstract: The silica, alumina, ceria, and titania supports were modified with uranyl ions (5 wt%) and investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The data show the U4f photoelectron spectra and charge state of uranium for uranyl ions deposited on different supports. The additional in situ XPS experiments with simultaneous irradiation of the sample using a 450 nm light-emitting diode were performed, and the XPS spectra, revealing a partial reduction of uranium under visible irradiation, are presented. The data s… Show more

“…11A , illustrates the presence of C, N, and O atoms for the EKKEDRGDEKKE self-assembled peptide and the co-existence of C, N, O, and U for the EKKEDRGDEKKE–uranyl complex. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements of free uranyl nitrate (U 6+ ) indicated the presence of U 4f 7/2 and U 4f 5/2 peaks at 382.12 eV and 393.01 eV, respectively 81 ( Fig. 11B ).…”

“…Regarding the deconvolved high resolution spectrum of C 1s ( Figure 6C ), five possible bonds were obtained, assigned as follows ( Fabretto et al, 2009 ; Wei et al, 2015 ; Deng et al, 2017 ; Abdul Razzaq et al, 2019 ): 284.5 eV to the C sp 3 bond, 285.4 eV to CS, 286.4 is associated with COC, 287.6 eV to carbonyl, and 288.9 a possible ester. The deconvolved high resolution spectrum of O 1s ( Figure 6D ) contains four probable bonds ( Gordovskaya et al, 2014 ; Lin et al, 2016 ; Mowbray et al, 2016 ; Filippov et al, 2018 ): 531.6 eV associated to C-OH bond, 533.3 eV to CO/C=O, 534.2 eV attached to ester, and 535.2 eV to pore water.…”

“…The presence of a small characteristic peak at 151.45 eV indicates free dysprosium content in the sample. 33 Further, the bulk oxide peaks of Dy 4d 5/2 were evidenced at 155.89 eV, 159.61 eV respectively, while Dy 4d 3/2 peaks were identified above 163.46 eV. 34,35 The doublet peak within The change in magnetization (M) as a function of change in temperature (K) was recorded for TNSD sample kept under an external magnetic field of 5 kOe over the temperature range of 150 K to 6 K. Figure5 a shows that the Field Cooled curve of TNSD initially exhibited a paramagnetic (PM) behaviour.…”
