Impurity Centres in ZnTe Crystals Doped with Be, Mg, Cd, and Hg

Abstract: The reflection coefficient, Raman scattering, and photoluminescence spectra are investigated in ZnTe crystals, doped by isoelectronic impurities (Be, Mg, Cd, and Hg) up to concentration w 10' ' ~m -~. It is shown that the above-mentioned impurities essentially influence the optical and emission properties of ZnTe crystals. It is possible only in that case when the introduced impurity forms a bound exciton complex with the local centre.
