Aim To describe nursing students' user experiences' (UX) regarding highly immersive virtual reality (VR) simulation with head mounted display used for learning. Design Qualitative descriptive study. Methods Graduating nursing students (n = 41). Individual interviews were held right after VR simulation. The usability was assessed using System Usability Scale (SUS). Results User experiences emphasized three themes about the highly immersive VR simulation: nursing care in the immersive VR simulation, technology in the immersive VR simulation, and learning nursing in the immersive VR simulation. Usability was evaluated as fair (SUS score 62.3 out of 100). Scores revealed that the VR simulation was easy to use. The support of a technical person was highlighted. Conclusions This study supports strongly the use of highly immersive VR simulation for nursing education. VR simulations should replicate the most authentic nursing care. Technical assistance is crucial when adopting new technologies in education. The results highlighted the importance of UX in an education context.

The Learning Management System in science education has become crucial in modern educational settings. However, there is a lack of comprehensive resources to guide the implementation of hedonic and pragmatic qualities in UX. This study aims to identify emotional design factors and adopt an innovative perspective with a rhetorical approach to enhance the user experience. This study adopts the Design-Based Research methodology using the UEQ questionnaire with 26 items, involving a total population of 122 students. Conducting research through a User Experience Questionnaire, rhetorical evaluation, and open-ended questions in three control groups, the physics learning experience through Moodle at the Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University was evaluated, specifically in the Physics Education study program. The research findings demonstrate that improving UX leads to higher user satisfaction. According to the results of the UEQ analysis, it is evident that attractiveness, clarity, and efficiency are rated above average. Meanwhile, aspects of dependability, stimulation, and novelty are assessed below average criteria. The study concludes that ethos, pathos, and logos are essential in embracing the pragmatic and hedonic aspects of UX.

ZusammenfassungBei der Gestaltung digitaler (Lern-)Umgebungen spielt die Nutzbarkeit oder Usability eine entscheidende Rolle. Das Design der Oberfläche (des Frontend) ermöglicht es Nutzer*innen, eine Software zu bedienen oder auf einer Website zu navigieren. In ihrer optischen Gestaltung spiegelt sich die interne Struktur einer Software oder Website, und eine geringe Usability wird zu Recht den Eindruck vermitteln, dass ein Programm konzeptionell nicht durchdacht ist.
