“…As 7-point scale confused the respondents by providing several options (Cheng & Chen, 2015); therefore, an adoption of 5-point Likert scale is more convenient and gives similar results. Additionally, several scholars used 5-point Likert scale in different studies (Cai, Huang, Liu, & Wang, 2018;Liu, Chu, Huang, & Chen, 2016;Pitafi, Kanwal, Akhtar, & Irfan, 2018;Pitafi, Liu, & Cai, 2018). Therefore, in this study, the of local transportation consisted of four items and was adopted by Kozak (2001Kozak ( , 2003 and Merrilees, Miller, and Herington (2009)…”
This research explores a very important issue arising from the initiation of China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan, as the major impact seems to be focused towards small businesses and how they will cope in this competitive market once Chinese businesses enter in the country. According to scholars and officials, CPEC will generate several business opportunities for the local Pakistani community. However, studies related to the CPEC project are limited and only focused on the development of the CPEC project in various aspects alone. The existing study examined the local entrepreneur's attitude and intention in the context of CPEC using a sample of 255 survey questionnaires. Structural equation modeling was used to test the proposed hypotheses. Data were gathered from the existing business community in Karachi, Pakistan. The results validated most of the hypotheses showing positive attitude towards entrepreneurs and intention towards CPEC development project. Specifically, local transportation and accessibility of cities show a significant relationship with a positive attitude. Similarly, the attitude of entrepreneurs also shows a positive relationship with entrepreneur's intention towards CPEC development projects. Findings have important theoretical and practical implications for policymakers of CPEC in creating an overall entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“…adopt unexpected changes quickly [7], [8]. However, studies related to ESM usage and employee agility are limited and scarce [7], [9], [10]. Specifically, Alavi et al [7] reported that employee agility is based on flexible organizational environments.…”
The usage of enterprise social media (ESM) has rapidly increased in the workplace. Firms adopt the ESM platform for the knowledge sharing and work-related communication of employees. However, the efficient use of the ESM technology in the workplace remains a challenge for organizations and business leaders. Previous studies have inconsiderably focused on this domain of research. The existing research investigates the influence of ESM usage on employee agility through meta-knowledge considering the moderation role of digital fluency. Using 263 responses from Chinese employees, this study investigates how ESM usage improves employee agility through meta-knowledge. Results confirm that organizations can improve the meta-knowledge of employees through investment in the ESM technology and that ESM usage is significantly related to individual agility via meta-knowledge. Digital fluency strengthens the relationship between ESM usage and employee agility and supports the correlation between ESM usage and employee agility via meta-knowledge. Finally, on the basis of the results, the theoretical and managerial implications of the study are discussed. INDEX TERMS Meta-knowledge, digital fluency, employee agility, ESM usage.
“…Second, this research extends the literature on the value of ESM. Previous empirical studies on ESM mainly focus on how ESM affects organizational knowledge transfer [7,83,84] and employee performance [85,86], but very few have considered an employee's psychological state. Our study addresses this research gap by adopting a guanxi perspective to explore how ESM affects employees' psychological state-thriving at work.…”
This study aims to explore the relationship between newcomers’ use of enterprise social media (ESM) and their thriving at work. Adopting the conception of swift guanxi, we propose a model to examine how newcomers’ work-related use of ESM influences their thriving at work through promoting swift guanxi (i.e., mutual understanding, reciprocal favors, and relationship harmony) between newcomers and veterans. A valid sample consisted of 77 new employee-veteran dyads in a large telecom company was used in Smart-PLS to test our research model. The results show that newcomers’ work-related use of ESM positively affects mutual understanding, reciprocal favor, and relationship harmony. Reciprocal favor and relationship harmony exert positive effects on learning and vitality. However, mutual understanding only has a positive effect on learning. Furthermore, swift guanxi mediates the relationships between newcomers’ work-related ESM usage and the two dimensions of thriving. The findings provide new insights for organizations to better manage the use of ESM to improve newcomers’ thriving at work.
