Improvement of the Turbine Blade Surface Phase Structure Recovered by Plasma Spraying

Abstract: This paper presents the results of research on the construction, technological parameters and criteria that control the process of formation of optimal phase structure of austenitic- and martensitic-class material for steam turbine blades. The hypothesis that the established correlation could increase the quality of blade recovery and its resistance against dynamic and vibrational loads was proved. The efficiency of the developed implantation method for the recovery of steam turbine blades was demonstrated. Th… Show more

“…The studied processes explain the nature of destruction and stressing in the contact zone on the tread surface of the wheel [51][52][53][54]. As a rule, destruction occurs in a metal structure in the same stress zone, corresponding to the maximum range of moments of forces at the time of braking and turning of the railway car.…”

“…This means that with an increase in the transverse profile of the tooth and the area of the worn surface, the friction forces acting on it increase [17,[25][26][27]. Accordingly, the energy intensity of the tooth insertion process and the destruction of the soil will increase with increasing friction forces of the worn part.…”

“…To optimize maintenance costs, the user chooses one of the available engine versions, repair contractors and spare parts suppliers. The regeneration of the turbine blades [13,15], including the replacement of the coatings, can be entrusted to one of several contractors who implement their application process. The manufacturing quality, durability and other parameters of blade coatings from different series may differ significantly.…”
