Abstract: We present an improved analysis of the final data set from the QUaD experiment. Using an improved technique to remove ground contamination, we double the effective sky area and hence increase the precision of our cosmic microwave background (CMB) power spectrum measurements by ∼30% versus that previously reported. In addition, we have improved our modeling of the instrument beams and have reduced our absolute calibration uncertainty from 5% to 3.5% in temperature. The robustness of our results is confirmed thr… Show more

“…For more details on SNIa observation and its cosmological applications, see [9,346] and references therein. The WMAP 7-year temperature power spectrum, along with the temperature power spectra from the ACBAR [347] and QUaD [348] experiments. The solid line shows the best-fitting ΛCDM model to the WMAP data, corresponding to Ω Λ =0.738.…”

“…Multiple peaks in the spectrum have been measured most recently by Brown et al (2009), Friedman et al (2009), Reichardt et al (2009a, 2009b, Sayers et al (2009), Lueker et al (2010, Sharp et al (2010), Fowler et al (2010, Das et al (2011), andNolta et al (2009). Secondary anisotropies include CMB lensing, which acts to smooth out the peaks and add excess power to the damping tail; and the SZ effect, which distorts the primordial CMB signal.…”

“…The results presented here are derived using fielddifferenced maps; the consequences of field-differencing in the context of the source catalog are discussed further in Section 3.1, while we refer the reader to the Map Paper for a more detailed discussion of field-differencing. Absolute calibration is applied using a scaling factor at each frequency, derived in the QUaD CMB analysis presented in Brown et al (2009). These factors were calculated by cross-calibrating QUaD CMB maps to those from the Boomerang experiment (Masi et al 2006) and have an estimated uncertainty of 3.5%.…”
